The Global Network of Water Museums and the University of Venice Ca’ Foscari in cooperation with the Water Museum of Venice are pleased to invite you to the launch of Out of Ice, an 84-minute film by Rob Page documenting the work of the Scottish environmental artist Elizabeth Ogilvie with a particular focus on her project in North West Greenland. The Out of Ice forum will be taking place in Venice on 7th May.
The forum is inspired by the theme of the 58th Venice Biennale, opening in the following days, which reflects upon the power of art to engage audiences and widen their perspectives enabling them to experience the world from new standpoints.
The open session brings together a panel of artists, curators and scientists to discuss how – with regard to environmental change – art and science can benefit from an interdisciplinary dialogue, by engaging diverse audiences and employing different approaches to tackle the same fundamental concerns, our role and responsibility towards our planet.
