The Global Network of Water Museums, in cooperation with ICOMOS International Scientific Committee on Water and Heritage, invites you to a webinar to explore new educational tools that can support the promotion of our water heritage and build a knowledge repository for future generations. 

The many water challenges we are facing today call for a paradigm shift in education on water management and governance. The need for an inclusive, ethical framework which embraces water values, including the world views of marginalised and indigenous communities, is increasingly recognised as a missing element in the discourse on integrated water resources management (IWRM). Rooted in water-related cultural assets and our living waters heritage, such a framework seeks to draw from different traditions and sources – oral, documented, built and visual – through new approaches aimed at engaging the youth as future water-keepers of inherited natural wealth.

The workshop will provide constructive examples of data visualisation and online learning in a world which is increasingly virtual and where immersive and interactive experiences of our water heritage can stimulate young people to explore their inherited water assets and foster new imaginaries linked to this precious liquid element.
